Owner Spotlight: Mike Schneider

I’m Mike Schneider, proud owner of New Age Inspections.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

After growing up in rural Saskatchewan, I got into the construction industry where I worked diligently for a period of eight years. I then became a home inspector and have been honing my skills for the past four years.

I am in the business of home inspection to share my knowledge with my clients about quality as well as the study the pros and cons of the property they have in mind in order to help them make an informed decision about the biggest purchase of their lives - a home.

I love all aspects of my job as every day is different. There is never the exact same thing that needs attention from home to home, this keeps me attentive and determined to find anything that needs attention so I can educate my clients.

At New Age Inspections, I am responsible for everything that has to be done and on average, I work between eight to twelve hours per day depending on the amount of work on the given day.

My typical day starts with preparing all my tools and loading them into my truck, reviewing the address of the property and ensuring all my equipment is packed and in good working condition. When I arrive at the home, I start the inspection which takes about three to four hours to complete. After all my inspections are done for the day, I return home and create the home inspection reports and send them to the client(s) as soon as they are complete.

My most important daily task is creating a proper schedule for home inspections. If done correctly, it gives me adequate time to perform the home inspection properly, thereby allowing me to offer the same quality to every client.

Being a captain throughout my sports career, spanning various teams, has taught me how to be a good leader. Those experiences have helped shape my leadership style.

Communication, knowledge and customer service are three top skills required to excel in this industry and I attribute my success to having these skills as well as providing all my clients with the best possible services at very competitive prices, along with being thorough and friendly to all of my clients.

The most satisfying moment in my business life so far is seeing the growth of my company, knowing that I am doing it the right way. As an individual, I believe what sets me and my business apart from the others is my honesty and integrity as well as my respectful and friendly disposition.

When I am not at work, I like to undertake house projects, work on vehicles, play sports and spend time with my family.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
